"Goodbye 2007, Welcome 2008"

As the last minutes of 2007 tick by
it seems to be a good time to reflect on the year that's passed.
Now all years bring good and bad,
and some more of one than another.
Personally 2007 has seemed to bring a little less good than previous years.
Every year has moments of heartbreak and joyous times also.
We've had people leave us for a time and others forever,
illness, debt, and sadness have plagued us at various times.
Of course, these are the times that try us.
Where we learn what we're capable of and what we can sustain.
These are times when we pull together as 'family', no matter the sort.
And when we do we learn the most important of lessons.
Not to take things for granted, not to put things off, never to ignore those we love.
Learning those lessons makes each year a time to celebrate,
the people we've met, the things we've accomplished, the new family we've made.
Life is constant change, like it or not.
We must remember that our loves do not end,
our passions do not fade,
our dreams do not die.
Love continues on and grows,
Dreams do not have to die, only change sometimes, and
Passions may flicker but will grow strong again.

So here's to loving our 'families' new and old,
the new and changing dreams for our futures and,
our raging passions growing stronger everyday.

Welcome 2008.
